This is your chance to get dirty for the cause of more better trails in Palos, and for runners to make some fun 2-wheeling friends—we're all out at Palos for the same reason: TO FEED OUR SOULS.
Funded by last fall's Michelob Ultra Extra Mile campaign, Trails for Illinois is partnering with CAMBr, who builds and maintains the 30+ miles of single track in Palos, to host three trail workdays to teach the running community about trail building & maintenance, and to move some dirt as one crazy community of trail lovers.
This is Trail Building 101 taught by the mountain bikers who have been expanding and maintaining the world-class Palos singletrack for 20 years, with plenty of on-the-job learning as we build new trail connections for all of us. You'll learn the Way of Dirt: how to move, shape and maintain it as fun, safe, environmentally sustainable trail that lasts for years of biking, running and hiking use.
We'll provide tools and teach you to use them—you'll get PLENTY of practice! And bring your running shoes and/or your bike and a beverage to share—work days are followed with grilling out, enjoying some refreshments, and hitting the Palos trails.
